Dermaplaning is a skin care treatment that removes dead skin cells and vellus hair using a small, sterile blade.

The procedure involves the use of a 10-inch scalpel, which curves into a sharp point. The blade is used on clean, dry skin on the forehead, cheeks, chin and neck. You can expect to see an instant improvement in skin texture and tone.

The long-term effects include increased cell turnover, fewer wrinkles and dark spots, reduction of acne scarring and the removal of fine facial hair.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • No. That is a myth.

It is common to feel a little stubble as your hair starts growing back in after dermaplaning. This doesn’t mean that your hair is thicker or more coarse. It has to do with the way each hair was cut straight across. Because dermaplaning does not change the hair root, it cannot change the thickness or colour of the hair.

  • Dermaplaning does remove the fine vellus hair on our face; however, it is not a permanent solution for hair removal.
