Skin irregularities are benign skin lesions such as skin tags, milia, small fibromas, seborrheic keratosis, sebaceous hyperplasia, and cholesterol deposits.
The number of skin irregularities we are treating will determine how long your treatment is along with what type of device is needed to treat the skin irregularity. Treatments can be as quick as 5 minutes up to an hour.
Most skin irregularities can be treated with one session; however there are times where a second treatment may be required. Some skin irregularities have a high rate of reoccurrence or have the tendency to show up in other areas, which means future treatments may be needed.
We may use topical numbing cream when removing some skin irregularities but most do not require this.
Depending on the skin irregularity being treated, you might have a small micro-crusting where a lesion was removed. These typically take 5-7 days to resolve on their own. It is important not to pick these micro-crusts and to be gentle with the area until it heals to minimize any potential scarring or delayed healing.
You can usually return to your normal skincare routine the next day. You will be given post care instructions prior to leaving based on your specific condition and treatment performed.
